How do you use Baidu Webmaster Tools in English?

Baidu’s webmaster platform is useful, and it’s written in Chinese. The English guides we read are either old or thin on the screens that matter.

This guide gives you the current menu in English, the words you’ll see in reports, and the buttons to double-check. It’s part of our guide to Baidu SEO.

It assumes you already have access. If you don’t, start with how to set up Baidu Webmaster Tools.

Is there an English version of Baidu Webmaster Tools?

No. We read the platform’s menu on November 1, 2026, and it showed no language switch.¹ English appears only inside labels, such as Robots, VIP and AI.

Third-party guides agree. WebNots says Baidu offers the tool “only in Chinese language”,² and Dragon Metrics calls it “only available in Chinese”.³

Both of those guides are years old, so the live check matters more than their wording. The platform now goes by 搜索资源平台, or Search Resource Platform, at ziyuan.baidu.com.¹

Three ways to work in English

Use all three together. Browser translation gets you around, an extension may go further, and the Chinese labels are what you check before acting.

Chrome page translation

Google’s help page covers both full pages and single labels.⁵

1. Translate the page. Click the Translate icon in the address bar, or right-click and choose “Translate to” your language.
2. Translate one label. Highlight the text, right-click, and choose “Translate selection to” your language.
3. Reload if it fails. Google suggests a refresh when translation doesn’t run.

The second step is the useful one for this tool. A single label, translated alone, is easier to compare with the table below than a full page of running text.

Dragon Metrics warns that Google Translate “does not translate technical terms well”.³

Android Experto says menu wording can change between sessions, so it advises relying on recurring terms and icons.⁴

The English Baidu Search Console extension

One dedicated tool exists. Jademond Digital’s Chrome extension says it translates the interface, with an English and Chinese toggle, and adds CSV export for daily clicks and impressions.⁶

We haven’t tested it, and the store listing showed 76 users and 1 rating when we read it, so there’s little outside evidence yet.⁶

Check what it reads before you install it. The privacy policy says it reads page content and reporting data on ziyuan.baidu.com, and processes them locally.⁷

The store listing, though, declares website content as data collected.⁶ The two statements don’t read the same, so ask the developer if your reports are sensitive.

The listing also says it isn’t an official Baidu product.⁶

Don’t act on the rows marked literal. They translate the words, not what the tools do. A second sidebar on the same page also lists 视频极速服务 (video fast service, literal) under 搜索展现, and calls the last group 优化与维护.¹

AI traffic analysis is new. Baidu announced it on September 15, 2026, and said it’s opening in stages, without complete data yet.²⁰

The rest of the navigation sits outside that menu:

• 用户中心: User center. 站点管理 (site management) and 添加网站 (add a site) are here.²¹
• 管理员设置: Administrator settings, for giving others access.¹⁹
• 消息提醒: Message alerts. Baidu sends rectification notices through its in-site messages, 站内信.⁹
• 反馈中心: Feedback center, for reporting problems with your site in Baidu search or with the tools.²⁶
• VIP俱乐部: VIP Club, in the bottom links. The manual routes the site logo through it.¹¹⁷

The words you’ll meet in reports

A short vocabulary covers most of your screens. Fields come first, then the statuses that tell you whether something worked.

Status labels depend on the tool, and these two tools use the most of them:

Two reading rules save you from wrong conclusions. Index volume counts pages that can appear as search candidates, and Baidu says its rise or fall doesn’t tell you how traffic will change.¹⁰

It updates at best daily, at worst weekly. Baidu says swings of 10% or more can be normal, and that a large swing without a large traffic change needs no alarm.¹⁰

What the crawl error labels mean

Crawl errors split into site problems and link problems. If your site is hosted outside China, look at the connection labels first, since they concern reaching your server at all.

Crawl diagnosis uses a slightly different set. The manual lists these labels for testing a single URL:¹³

• url规范: URL format problem
• 重定向错误: Redirect error, after more than 5 redirects in a row or a redirected URL that’s too long
• 服务器连接错误: Server connection error
• robots封禁问题: Blocked by robots
• DNS问题: DNS problem
• 404错误: 404 error
• 访问遭拒绝: Access refused
• 参数错误: Parameter error
• socket读写错误: Socket read or write error
• 读取http头或者页面内容时失败: Failed reading the HTTP header or page content

The manual gives 70 uses per site per week, shows only the first 200 KB of what the spider sees, and supports URLs up to 1,024 characters.¹³

The same chapter calls prices output through JavaScript unfriendly to the spider, and suggests rechecking after a fix.¹³ That makes the tool a starting point for whether Baidu reads your JavaScript, though we haven’t tested it on a JavaScript page.

Android Experto says an “abnormal” label may point to a temporary crawl issue, a server timeout, blocked resources, duplicate content or a low-value page.⁴ Recheck before you change your server.

Which actions need a check of the Chinese?

Anything that changes what Baidu holds about your site. Reading a report wrongly costs you little, but these actions have real consequences. The rules below come from the manual, last dated August 14, 2020, so check them against your account.

A success message doesn’t mean what it seems to, either. Android Experto warns that it may only confirm receipt.⁴ Baidu says fast crawl gives no assurance on indexing or display.²⁴

The part that already speaks English

The API push does, going by Baidu’s manual. If a developer sends your URLs by API, the manual lists its error messages in English, so nobody needs to read the interface for that step.¹⁸

A successful call returns the fields success, remain, not_same_site and not_valid.¹⁸

You’ll still need the interface once, to copy the token from the API push tool.¹⁸

Access itself can change. In September 2023 Baidu shut sitemap submission for sites in non-real-name accounts and for low-quality sites, and adjusted daily API quotas, saying it would restore rights for compliant sites.²⁹ Check what your own account shows.

Which labels in older guides no longer apply?

If a screenshot doesn’t match your screen, the guide may simply be out of date. Dragon Metrics was last updated in 2017. WebNots describes a Ping tool at a separate address, ping.baidu.com, and it isn’t in the menu we read.¹²³

The old name of the platform survives too. English guides still say Baidu Webmaster Tools, so we use it here.

The bottom line

There’s no English version, and we found no sign that one is coming. You can still run the tool with browser translation for reading and a label map for acting.

Keep the Chinese in view for anything that changes your site’s data at Baidu.
