Who is responsible
The data controller is HDB Ventures Limited, Hong Kong SAR, which operates Index in China. For any privacy request, write to hugo@indexinchina.com.
What we collect and why
- Free visibility check. When you request a report, we collect your website address, your name and your email address. We use them to run the check, send you the report and follow up on your request.
- Call booking. When you book a call, the booking tool collects your name, email and the details you enter, so we can hold the meeting.
- Site analytics. We measure page views and clicks on our buttons to improve the site. Analytics run without advertising cookies and are not used to build profiles.
The legal basis is your request (to run the check or hold the call) and our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.
Who processes the data
- Vercel (hosting).
- Resend (sending the report by email).
- Cal.com (call booking).
- PostHog, EU hosting (site analytics).
- SerpApi, Globalping and Anthropic receive only your website address and facts about it, never your name or email, to run the check and write its summary.
Some of these providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. We use them under their standard data protection terms.
How long we keep it
We keep request and booking details for as long as needed to follow up, and no longer than three years after our last contact with you.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to its use, or ask for a copy, by writing to hugo@indexinchina.com. If you are in the European Union, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
